Happy Halloween, Block Clubbers!

I hope you have a wonderful, spooky day planned, whether that involves partying with friends, taking your kids trick-or-treating or even just going for a walk around your neighborhood to check out the Halloween decorations.

I was one of several Dolly Partons at my neighborhood’s annual Dead Celebrity party last weekend, and I now feel a special kinship with my fellow Dollys. Tonight I am headed to the Haunted on Halsted parade, followed by a soup party at a friend’s house in a popular trick-or-treating neighborhood.

If you don’t have plans for the day yet, never fear! Check out some stories and suggestions below to get you in the Halloween spirit if you are so inclined (including some last-minute costume ideas), as well as our usual updates on arts and events around Chicago.

Whatever you’re up to this weekend, have fun and be safe. And please send any pics of fun Halloween displays in your neighborhood or costumes to arts@blockclubchi.org. You may see them in a future newsletter!

See you in November,
